6th Grade Activities Chairman
coordinates fundraising, communication, and activities/parties unique to the 6th grade graduating class. This includes coordinating design and creation of class t-shirt, challenge course retreat, car wash, Trunk-or-Treat, graduation breakfast, DVD and party.
Bike Rodeo
plans, coordinates and executes the 2nd grade bike rodeo at the end of the 2nd grade school year.
Book Fair
works with Mrs. Jensen to plan, coordinate and execute the school book fair with Scholastic. This position also procures volunteers and manages the book fair volunteers and used and new book sales.
Book Fair Dinner
coordinates the book fair dinner, volunteers, costs, foods selections and sets up for the dinner to coincide with the Book Fair
Box Tops
coordinates and promotes Box Tops collections throughout the year in an effort to raise funds for Brookwood PTA.
Carnival
plans, coordinates and executes Brookwood carnival to promote a fun, school-wide and community event
Chat-n-Chew
procures and coordinates MVP trained volunteers for chat-n-chew, selects age appropriate books with Mrs. Jensen, and organizes discussion questions for volunteer leaders. In addition, organizes student sign ups for the chat-n-chew program and organizes into groups. Communicates with discussion leaders, teachers, students and parents.
Community Service/Do-Good Club
plans and coordinates community service activities for Brookwood students to participate, communicates the importance of community service and how these activities impact our community, and procures volunteers and student sign up opportunities for each event.
Contests – Citizenship/Geography/Spelling Bee
plans, organizes and executes school sponsored contests at school and district wide, updates plaques for winning participants. Collects entry-forms and packets, organize volunteers, distribute prizes and awards.
Cultural Arts
guided by teacher input, plans and executes cultural experiences for Brookwood Students.
Directory/Database
collects all contact information for Brookwood students and their family to create a database and directory for PTA members.
Environmental
coordinate and organize recycling efforts and environmental programming/activities for Brookwood students to participate in while educating them on the benefits to our Brookwood community, our surrounding community and at large.
Ice Cream Social
plan, organize and execute ice cream social to get Brookwood students acclimated to the school and their classroom while providing parents opportunities to pay fees, order spirit wear and yearbooks and join PTA. Works closely with welcome committee.
Holiday Gift Baskets
procures donations from Brookwood families to create an assortment of gifts to our teachers and staff during the holiday season.
Teacher Appreciation
provides refreshments and food for teachers and staff the first week of school, during fall conferences, book fair preview breakfast, mathletics at Brookwood, teacher appreciation week, farewell receptions for staff, and during author visits.
Legislative/SMSD liaison
keeps PTA general members informed of legislation pertaining to education and encourages members to communicate with legislators .
STEAM Night
plans, coordinates and executes STEAM night programming and volunteers to provide opportunities to engage in science, technology, engineering, art and math for Broowkwood students and their families.
Outdoor Lab
to maintain the flower beds on school property
Primary Basement Management
maintain and organize the inventory in the primary basement
Reflections
to promote the reflections contest and collect entries to turn into the SMAC reflections committee. To retrieve and disperse prizes related to Reflections Contest to Brookwood students.
Room Parent Coordinator
to communicate with and organize information for room parents to give to Brookwood families.
School Health Council Liaison
to promote and encourage healthy behaviors by planning and executing walk/bike to school, Body Venture, and health council events during the school year.
School Supplies
coordinates school supplies needed for following year with teachers and school supply orders through epi for Brookwood families.
Food/Entertainment FUNdraisers
organizes and promotes fun food and entertainment options for fundraising in the Brookwood community
Specials Art Room Parent
communicates with Mr Mosher and assists and supports the art room by relaying that information to the PTA and Brookwood families.
Specials Field Day
communicates with Mrs. Ponzer to plan, assist, and support field day activities and coordinate volunteers.
Specials Gym Room Parent
communicates with Mrs Ponzer and assists and supports the PE programs by relaying information to the PTA and Brookwood families.
Specials Running Club
communicates with Mrs Ponzer to plan, assist and support the running club activities and coordinate volunteers and participant communication.
Specials Library Parent
communicates with Mrs. Jenson and assists and supports the library by relaying that information to the PTA and Brookwood families.
Specials Music Room Parent
communicates with Mrs. Lake and assists and supports the music room by relaying that information to the PTA and Brookwood families.
Spirit Wear
orders and designs spirit wear items for sale to Brookwood families and manages the sales of items
through the year.
Talent Show Coordinator
communicates with Mrs. Lake and coordinates the talent show with participants and Brookwood families.
Trivia Night
event-plans and coordinates trivia night activities and teams as an additional FUNdraiser for PTA.
Welcome Committee
Welcomes new families to Brookwood at the New Family Welcome Night in August before school begins, organizes the PTA Welcome Coffee, and other events to help inform, educate and welcome new families to our Brookwood community.
Yearbook
using the Balfour website, designs and plans the yearbook pages and coordinates with the 6th grade yearbook liaison, sales manager and photographers, to create layout and disperse yearbooks to Brookwood students. Yearbook coordinator also coordinates with Interstate Photography for picture day, retakes and clubs/activities.
Yearbook Cover and 6th grade layout
coordinates with the yearbook coordinator to create a cover for the yearbook and in creating 6th grade pages.
Yearbook Sales Manager
with the yearbook coordinator and Balfour representative, coordinates and manages the sale of all yearbooks, both online and paper sales, to Brookwood families and keeps record of yearbook sales through the year.
Yearbook Photographer
with the yearbook coordinator, assigns special events and yearbook needs to take pictures that represent a year at Brookwood so every class, event, club and activity is represented through photographs taken during the course of the school year.
